Open position: Project Assistant for one year’s fixed time period

We are looking for a person to be hired through The vacant job funding program, for one year’s fixed time period. The vacant job funding program is a funding program of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The aim of the program is to promote the employment of those who find it difficult to find employment through offering jobs in non-governmental organizations working in social and health fields. The vacancies created by the program can only be applied for by young adults under 30 with poor employability and people with partial work ability (without an age restriction).

In The Blue Ribbon Foundation’s immigrant work we work for preventing homelessness of those moving to Finland and support immigrants experiencing homelessness. The work includes advising people who are undocumented and arranging group activities, assisting people without apartment in finding apartment, advising in housing related matters, and arranging courses about housing in Finland. We also do advocacy work and cooperation with other organizations.

The person we are looking for could work in many different tasks in KOTA-program. The tasks can be partly tailored depending on the interests and skills of the selected person. Fluent Finnish is not a prerequisite for getting the work, but we wish the selected person will be motivated to use and develop their Finnish skills.

What we wish from you:

  • You are interested about the work themes and are eager to learn
  • You master the basics of IT, or have the ability to learn the use of different programs easily (e-mail, Office365, social media)
  • Your Finnish is at least on skill level B1
  • English skills and other language skills (for instance somali or arabic) are an advantage
  • You have education or earlier work experience from social work field
  • You actively take initiative and know how to ask for help when needed
  • You have good teamwork skills

The job is located in Vallila, Helsinki. The work includes occasional evening work. Salary for the position is 2080,52 – 2250 euros. The salary will be defined by the applicants education, experience and skills.
